lost letters

Three of my letters have get lost. I have sent them to collectors and now it has take about one month and I have not heard of them, no register. One letter from Ukraina came back to me with note ”adress unknown”.
I don´t care much about those stamps, but those three adress takes half of my changes to send new letters. They stay ”in progress”. Can I do anything to take those away?

I seem to have always at 6-7 in progress letters. However, only 2-3 are actually new, the rest either lost or non-registered and waiting for the period of 90 days (or more) to be cleared to get a new open slot. Has anybody else experiencing this lately? Is this related to an increased number of members not active anymore? Can the 90 days expiration time be shortened?

I sent a letter to Island for 51 days and I have not yet been rated
I sent a message to the person I sent the letter but no answer. I do not know if the letter did not reach or the person forgot to evaluate my letter. I should know where the problem came from

phparis, I manually expire the exchanges around 90 days. I do this about once a week. It's not yet automatic because I try to look first at the expired exchanges, trying to understand why they don't get registered. In particular looking for members that might abuse the system. It will be automatic at some point when I will create other ways to analyze the expired exchanges.

Hi Danubius, I have a "more than 90 days"-letter (and another one on 50stamps-project), both are still counted in my count for traveling letters.

Ok, thank you both for answering. That´s what I need to know; takes some time but those three post go away from my exchages after few months and I can send six pack´s again.

An expired letter can still be sent/registered after the expiration date. The expiration date is just for the limit of simultaneous traveling letters.

They expire after 90 days. You will still see them in the "In progress" page but they wont count for your simultaneous traveling letters.

At this point you have 3 traveling but your limit should be 6 so you can still send new lots.

7 of my letters seem to have got lost and 2 of them are still "in progress" (less than 60 days traveling) ...we just have to wait til they are "expired". it is very disappointing, i do not mind waiting but iam certain that at least 3 of those have arrived but the receivers did not bother to register them :( one month is not that long yet, i think -depends on the countries though, maybe the receiver is on holidays :)
