I read quite a few profiles already and I noticed that people collect special subjects / years. Quite a few members have lots and lots of stamps. That makes me think: I hope the system won't pick them for me to send stamps to. They have such a special needs, they have so many stamps already, can I please this member as a beginner? I wonder does he/ she like the ones I picked out?
I haven't got that many stamps myself, I haven't got that many double ones... I Always try to choose nice ones, I look at the profile, but I think it's tough to please members who have thousands of stamps who also take part in this community for quite some time. I'm curious to know how the top rankers think about this.

Yes, the partners are assigned automatically. These means that the preferences like themes, years, countries are optional. If you try your best, it should be fine.

It's also important to keep in mind that you have to send a letter to each member you requested. If you don't send the letter, your partner will loose one letter.

Hi Gerard,
it's my understanding that the site assigns you partners randomly based on available slots -- so, there's no picking 'old vs new' or swaps by wish-lists. The goal is to meet fellow collectors world-wide by exchanging 100 used stamps.
