Hi everybody, my name is Jean Paul, but all my friends and family do call me Paul. I'm 50 years old and I'm from Belgium. Belgium consists of 3 federal regions, I'm from Flanders, town Vilvoorde, not far away from the capital Brussels. I was collecting stamps at a very young age, around the age of 9 ... Later due to studies and later international assignments for work, I was not busy with it for quiet some years. After my divorce, I picked up again this marvelous hobby and well I'm enjoying it a lot.
I did create a FaceBook group for Exchanging stamps and thanks to one of its members and a member here, Emily (Feijoa_girl), I learned about this site. I hope I can start well here too, have a lot of fun and surprises ... Cheers, Paul

I'm new too! My first batch I sent, I saw the very experienced member wanted European stamps. I didnt have many but I put some Dutch ones in. Then afterwards I saw that Netherlands is the no. 1 country on here. I was so worried that I sent Dutch stamps, that would be considered common probably, I thought I would get a bad rating! But I still got 5 stars yay! So it's ok if you try your best, in my small experience.

I will never let my rating be influenced by the amount of stamps I can use for my collection. I already have a lot and I know it would be very difficult/impossible for someone to send me 100 stamps I don't have. I look at the quality, and ofcourse there can always be one or two damaged ones in a lot, that won't effect the rating. But a lot of damaged stamps, an uneven mix of definitives and cto's, that will lead to a rating of 3 or lower.

we dont make marks on what you send... it is the quality that matters
and - if stated no definitives o ctos, dont send them
and mark in a letter that you are begginer - we will understand - every single one of us was once there :)

Hello everybody,

My name is Gerard, I live in the Netherlands, in the beautiful town called Middelburg.
I think this is a great way to swap stamps.

I read quite a few profiles already and I noticed that people collect special subjects / years. Quite a few members have lots and lots of stamps. That makes me think: I hope the system won't pick them for me to send stamps to. They have such a special needs, they have so many stamps already, can I please this member as a beginner? I wonder does he/ she all the ones I picked out.
I haven't got that many stamps myself, I haven't got that many double ones... I Always try to choose nice ones, I look at the profile, but I think it's tough to please members who have thousands of stamps who also take part in this community for quite some time. I'm curious to know how the top rankers think about this.

Hi I'm new here. I'm from New Zealand, I've just sent off my first two envelopes. My first code was NZ-1, does that mean I'm the first kiwi on here? I live around the corner from Hobbiton. I've collected stamps since I was 6 years old and I just love it! This site is a great idea I wish I found it earlier! Looking forward to many happy exchanges xoxo

Hello, I am a new member with the club. I joined on the recommendation of a collector in Poland whom I have traded with over the last year.

I am a 69 year old retired physician. I have collected stamps since the age of 10. My collection is not very big, only about 15,000 different varieties. I collect both worldwide used stamps, as well as stamps related to the themes of music, chess and trains.

I also love the process of soaking stamps off paper - very relaxing. I find getting a kiloware lot, sorting it, soaking it, pressing it, and then cataloguing it is one of the basic pleasures of the hobby, but it is a very slow way to build a collection. I have started to trade with other collectors in the last two years with the idea to enlarge my collection in that manner.

I hope to make new international friends on the 100stamps.club website and have many successful trades!
